Adenoids and Tubes

Ben has been cursed with horrible ear problems.  He has had them since he was a baby and continues to have problems with ear infections.  When he was 1 yrs old, we had tubes placed in his ears which helped for a while until the left tube fell out.  Shortly after we went back to having antibiotics after antibiotics.  I sure didn't want Ben to have to go through another surgery, but since we have had 3 infections in the past six weeks, we decided that is what he needed.  

As everyone knows, there is not a lot that will stop Ben!  He is a sweet, but stubborn little boy!  We arrived for the procedure at 5:50am and were back home by 8:30.  He did wonderful for getting two new tubes and his adenoids out, but was horribly mad when he came back to the room.  The anesthesia had him all confused and he screamed at the top of his lungs for 2 hours.  After we got home and took a three hour nap and during that time the anesthesia wore off because when he woke up, he was happy as could be.  

They told me Ben would probably be a little sore and wouldn't want to eat or drink for the day, but he showed us wrong.  This is a picture of Ben after eating a cheeseburger, goldfish, 3 popsicles, and a glass of milk.  And yes, this is how he usually looks if we let him feed himself!  I didn't care how messy he got though, I was just glad he was feeling good!
