Weekend Fun

During the week, our schedules are busy.  Like most people, we live for the weekends!  This weekend was extra special because we didn't have any plans!  We played Jenga, Uno, and Sorry and then finished the night putting together legos.

 His concentration is very intense!
Sam was determined he wasn't going to lose!  Matt kept telling him it was going to fall, so when his turn was over, he was excited because Matt went next!

Sam calls me the Uno Queen, but tonight was his lucky night....he won 3 out of the 4 games!
Playing a board game with Ben is sometimes a little stressful....okay, ALOT stressful!   He wants to move his piece where he wants it, wants to move every one else's piece where he thinks it should be, and if he wants two turns, he thinks he should be able to take two turns!  He was so proud of himself when he won, but he did it very fast.  We think he moved several to his home base when we weren't looking!

Kiss The Pig

Our PTO at FES had a fundraiser this past week.  Every teacher had a piggy bank and the teacher with the most money had to kiss a pig.  I thought this competition was funny, especially when Sam had 30 pounds to pennies to take to put in Mrs. Diane's pig.

What I didn't know is how many pennies my class would bring in!  At the end of the competition, I was the teacher with the most money!  With today being the 100th day of school, we had a huge celebration and it ended with the Kiss the Pig assembly.

The kids had a great time....but is not something I want to do again!!

50th Wedding Anniversary

Congratulations on 50 years of marriage.  Some people have a hard time finding something to be thankful for when it comes to their in-laws, but I definitely do not. I have much to be thankful for. The two of you have set a very good example for Matt and I to follow. Family is important to you and you show your love to us everyday.

I appreciate everything you do for our family.  From the good times to the bad, the two of you are always there.  I have always been able to call on my mom and dad anytime of the day and they would do whatever I needed them to do, but having inlaws to treat me as their daughter is a blessing.   Thank you for the countless trips to FES to bring me something I left at home, Thank you for all the meals you have delivered to our house, Thank you for the fun adventures we find ourselves on, and thank you for always being there if someone gets sick and we need help with the kids.

Sam and Ben have so many memories from all the time you spend with them.  From playing hide-and-go-seek, fishing, going out to eat, playing at the park, coming to their ballgames, and just spending time together at home.  You have helped to teach them unconditional love by always being there for them.   If I had a penny for every time they have said, MeMom and Nandaddy, I would be a rich woman!

Thank you for your commitment to each other. Your perseverance through the years is an example not only to me, but also to everyone who knows you. Many people do not stay married to each other for 50 years. You have shown by your actions how important it is to live out the promises you made to each other.  You are leaving a Godly legacy not only to me, but also to your children, grandchildren and more generations to follow.

The thing I am most thankful for is your faith in God and that you provided the means for Matt to learn about and accept Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. Because of this, I know we will spend eternity together with Him.

A letter will never adequately show you how much I admire and appreciate you both.
Thank you for all you have done for me and for my family.  We love you very much!

Baking

You never know what Ben and MeMom will get into while I am at work.  Today, they baked a cake!  Ben wanted me to eat it all and was so upset when I would only eat one piece!  He told me over and over....but mom, it is delicious!

Family Photos 2014

This post is a little late, but I loved our Fall 2014 family pictures!  My boys are growing up fast and although I treasured every minute while they were tiny, I am enjoying watching them grow and develop their own personalities!  I am blessed with such a sweet family!
