Christmas Day 2012

Christmas morning was exciting around the Dobson house!  Sam was the first one to wake up and sneak into our room.  He was very tired, but eager to go into the living room to see if Santa left anything.  He woke up Ben with a rooster call and they were off and running!  

Santa was good to Sam and Ben!

He brought them a puppet theater with tons of puppets...

Ben's umi-zoomi car was the only present he was concerned about and Sam was a big helper to Daddy.  Ben cried until it was opened!!

And then, he played with it the rest of the morning and didn't even care about the rest of the presents Santa left!

Sam wanted to build something with his new linking logs, but he couldn't stay with one toy long enough to build anything!

His favorite puppet was the trex.  He put on a cute show for us!

After the boys played with their toys for a while, we went to Gran Gran's house for Christmas lunch.  The boys were very sweet to each other all morning.  As soon as we arrived, Ben found the laundry basket and made a nest to watch his IPOD.

But Ben wanted to be left alone!

This is really hard to believe, but we actually got a family picture and we are all facing the same direction!

MeMom started handing out presents and the boys were excited!

Ben had a hard time unwrapping at first....

But before long, he was throwing paper everywhere!

Sam wanted his new book read to him!

And then we were brave, we let him color with a marker!

They were both watched closely...we didn't think Gran Gran wanted them coloring the walls!

Gram and Pap came to Cuba to join us for dinner.  The boys were excited to show them the gifts Santa brought!  Christmas is such a special day and I am glad we were able to spend it with our family.  We did miss John, Stacy, James and Andrew this year, but we know they had a great day.  Sam was worried about Santa making it all the way to Texas and was relieved to know he found their house!  

Christmas Eve 2012

If you didn't know, Christmas is my favorite holiday!  I have always loved Christmas, but now that I have two young kids I love it more than ever!!  Matt and I are blessed to have jobs that allow us to have time off to spend with our family. 

On Christmas Eve Sam woke up with both of his eyes red and watery.  At first I thought maybe it was pink eye, but pink eye is usually just in one eye.  Since we decided against pink eye we went on to Paducah to Gram and Pap's house.  By the time we got to Paducah his eyes were more irritated than before.  I decided to go on and take him to The Cecil Clinic.  We were lucky...it was not pink eye!  The redness was caused by a cold that had settled in his eye.  By the time we got back to Gram and Pap's house, Sam was ready to open presents!       

I love to watch the excitement on their faces.

Ben's favorite toy was his gorilla.  We read Good Night Gorilla at least 5 times a day!

Ben loves to play on the ipad.  I love to watch his little pointer finger tap around the screen!

I love this picture, but trust me...we took about 15 shots to finally get a good one!  Thanks Gram!

If you ever lose Ben, look in the bathroom.  He is probably brushing his teeth!!

 

 

 

 

Later that evening we went to the Rushings for our annual Christmas Eve get together!  Ben was more interested in climbing up and down the steps than visiting with us downstairs!

I love his smile when he knows he shouldn't be doing something!

Ben found a bed in the corner and decided he wanted to watch his IPAD.

On the way home the boys looked for red blinking lights.  Sam kept begging Matt to go faster because he was afraid Santa was going to skip our house because we weren't home.  Ben fell asleep shortly after getting on the road!  "Go Daddy go....go faster!" 

Christmas Break

I know I am behind on my blogging.  I am uploading my Christmas pictures right now, so hopefully I will be caught up before the end of the week!   Matt and I were both off from work and had a few days to be at home before the Christmas rush started.  We spent our time at home playing and having fun with the boys!

Ben loves playing in this spot, but typically he is on top of the table!

Every morning Ben checks to make sure Abby is on the back porch!  I love listening to him talk to her!

Ben loves fish, so we bought him a battery operated one!  We always tend to kill fish around here, but this one will never die!! 

This is Ben's smile right after he reached into the fish bowl and picked up his plastic fish and threw it on the ground.  I am glad it is plastic!!

During Christmas break, Sam had a sleep over at Gram and Pap's house.  Before he left I asked him if he wanted to take any of his new toys and he replied, "No, Gram has cool toys at her house!"  Gram and Sam played for hours and Pap read Sam books.  He had a wonderful time--what sweet memories they made together!
