After years of talking about going to the encampment at Fort Massac, the Dobson's finally made the trip across the river and saw what there was to see. For someone who loves history, Matt was more concerned about trying the different foods the vendor's had to offer. Sam was excited to get a wooden sword and a rubber band gun, and Ben found a hill to roll down, climb up, and roll down again. As always, we are blessed to have the Mohons as such great friends to share times with, and had a great time touring the grounds and seeing what life was like in the 1700's. The most exciting moment of the day took place when the reenactors put on a battle complete with cannons and muskets. When the first shot rang out Ben turned to a crowd of about 200 people and yelled, "Those Indians are going to get us." I hope this doesn't make him break out in a cold sweat when daddy is watching a western on TV.
