Weekend Fun!

Friday nights are always tough when you work all week, so after a long week of work Matt decided it was best to stay in and have a Friday Movie Night.  We played outside with the boys until it was their bedtime.  Sam of course loved running around the yard throwing balls and kicking his soccer ball.  He also cleaned all his yard toys of the lime with his butt!  It was completely white by the time we took him inside!  Ben also enjoyed the afternoon sun and breeze.  He looked around and was bright eyed and bushy tailed!

On Saturday, Matt woke up early to give the ACT, so Memom and Granddad had the opportunity to take Sam to his weekend music class in Murray.  I stayed home and did one of my new favorite things....rocked Ben!  After the ACT, we loaded up and went to Paducah.  About half way there, we found that Sam was extremely tired so we made a detour and went to Gram and Paps for him to take his afternoon nap.  Since both boys were asleep, Matt and I took the great opportunity to have some alone time!  It was so nice going out to eat and having adult conversation!  We went to El Chico's and split an order of fajitas before going to the mall and browsing the stores.  Later in the day, we took Sam to Wurth Farms for a hayride and trip to the pumpkin patch.  He loved both of them, but he enjoyed having a balloon blown up into a monkey and the petting zoo most of all!  Sam is such a happy baby that he smiled and ooed and awed at everything around!  He quickly made friends with the sheep and wanted to keep feeding it!  Needless to say we left with two big pumpkins and a balloon that had already popped!

On Sunday, the family went back to Paducah to eat at Chongs for Uncle Mark's birthday.  It was a late celebration, but we didn't get to celebrate with him earlier this month.  After lunch, we took a much needed nap and had a quiet afternoon!

It is hard to believe Ben is already 3 weeks old!  Today he wore his first outfit that had pants and socks.  It took me a while to find socks small enough for his little feet, but once I did, it was adorable!

Before Ben was born, Matt and I were a little worried about how Sam would react to his new baby brother.  As many of you know, Sam didn't like his baby brother, but liked his "friend" Ben!  Wow...things have changed in the past 3 weeks!  The first thing Sam does in the mornings is find Ben to give him a kiss.  He loves rocking him, finding the lost pacifiers and sticking them in Ben's mouth, and rocking his sleeper.  Sam also is torn up when he has to leave the house without Ben!  Yes, he does act out for attention some, but overall, he is transitioning alot better than we thought!  He is a sweet big brother and we know his love for Ben will grow stronger over time!!

I can't wait to see those boys in December! (And you & Matt too of, course.)
